Boise, Idaho was the site of our reunion last month. Although we were few in number (22) we still had a great time. The facilities were excellent and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. The trip to the Warhawk Museum seemed to be enjoyed by all. We boarded the bus early so the driver gave us a tour of Boise and the VA Clinic facilities.
At our meeting, we had reported that due to his spouse's health condition, our President, Jim Williamson, was resigning. We elected Jim Patterson as our new president. There were no other officer changes. Mark Stephens reported that the association is in good financial shape. We voted to have our 2026 reunion in Ogden, Utah. Jim pattersom is working on our reunion in Mobile next year. The dates for Mobile will be September 26 thru 27 (tentatively).
Laurence Burton and his wife, from Salt Lake City, were special guests. Laurence's mother Christened the USS Ogden in June of 1964. He brought the aluminum bottle holder that was used to hold the champaigne bottle used for the christening. He also had other items from that event. He was voted in as a honarary life member.
